Snowboarders
The Chamonix ski domain is a paradise for snowboarders with the vast amount of varied terrain and so much accessible off piste to keep you coming back year after year. True, it is known that this is the extreme freeriding capital of Europe - but there is plenty to suit any rider at any level, and you will not be disappointed!
Vallorcine/Domain de Balme/Le Tour
The wide open runs of Le Tour are perfect for snowboarders, with the beginners enjoying the gentle blues and plenty of space to get themselves out of trouble, while the better boarders tackle the reds, the tree runs and the off piste. Although there are many dreaded drag lifts at Le Tour, you still have most access through the chair lifts at Charmillion and over the back side into Vallorcine, where you also have some amazing off piste opportunities.

Le Brévent/La Flégère
Snowboarders of all levels head to Brévent to enjoy the quality pistes with the best off piste powder, couloirs, and a large bowl area accessed via the Col Cornu chairlift. The Flégère area is well known for its amazing snowpark like terrain which has enough quarter pipes, gullies and natural jumps to keep any budding park rider happy, with plenty of other piste and off piste opportunities for everyone else.

Grand Montet
The upper slopes of the Grand Montet offer a world of opportunity to the intermediate to advanced snowboarder, with beginners making good use of the lower slopes at Les Chosolet. The Grand Montet is home to many testing and varied pistes and plenty of easily accessible off piste terrain, rated as some of the best in the world! Powder hounds head to the Lavencher Bowl with its vast amounts of powder, chutes, cornices and rock drops, whilst the park riders head to the fun in the snowpark. Believe the hype - snowboarders will revel in the back country heaven that they will find here!

Les Houches
Les Houches offers a wide range of slopes for beginner to intermediate snowboarders, with amazing tree runs, superb off piste and a snowpark for the more advanced. This area is great to go on poor weather days due to the shelter of the trees, and is great for groups of mixed ability, keeping everyone happy!

Off piste
Hmmm, let me think..well apart from the TONNES of off piste we have already talked about - there is of course the famous Vallée Blanche! This 24km unpisted glacier run takes you through the most mind blowing scenery and is not to be missed. As long as you are up to a confident intermediate level, are physically fit enough to board all day and have a guide to take you - it is no problem. It'll definitely be an experience you'll keep forever! Remember to wax your board before you go and to bring along some telescopic ski poles (or a skier) to help you on the flat bits!
