Vallorcine and The Chamonix Valley

Vallorcine sits at the Eastern end of the Chamonix Valley, between Argentiere and Switzerland. The village of Vallorcine is made up of several tiny hamlets, each with its own special character. Whilst we believe that Vallorcine is the most beautiful part of the valley, we are sure that you will be eager to explore all that this vast area has to offer. We are well served by the Mont Blanc railway, with regular trains between Martigny in Switzerland, right through the Chamonix valley as far as St Gervais le Fayet, with national and international links. Rail travel is free with your guest card, provided with accommodation. Equally busy in the summer and winter, the whole of this area is a paradise for holiday makers. However, many of us live here all year round and it is the real town atmosphere that sets Chamonix apart from other alpine retreats. Equally Vallorcine is full of colourful local life throughout year.

Activities

With unrivalled summer hiking and climbing, as well as the legendry winter sports facilities, the Chamonix Valley has a deserved reputation as a sporting paradise. Less well know sports: snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ski touring, mountain biking, parapenting and canyoning are also right on the doorstep. Vallorcine is ideally situated to take advantage of all these facilities. However, even with the multitude of activities available summer and winter, many just come to marvel at the awesome grandeur of the mountains.
